Forensic Psychologists

Forensic psychologists specialise in problem behaviours that impact negatively on others. Many work in prisons or hospital settings identifying and treating key needs to help people manage those behaviours to prevent further harm.

Others work in the community supporting survivors of trauma or helping people to settle back into the community. Due to the diversity of people who commit offences or are heading down a problematic path, forensic psychologists often have a range of skills enabling them to assess and help many difficulties. Consequently, forensic psychologists are often asked to provide consultation, supervision or training to other professionals or individuals in assessment/treatment of problematic behaviours.

Description written by Jennie Bradbury, Forensic Psychologist

“We worked with a forensic psychologist to understand the individual’s behaviour and motivations. She was invaluable in providing accurate insights and promoting possibilities for rehabilitation.”
