About Me

My Experience and Qualifications

I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist. I have the skills and experience to work in a trauma-informed way with lots of different difficulties with children, young people, and adults in diverse settings, systems, and organisations.

No matter what your hopes are for therapy, you are welcome to reach out for an initial consultation. If you would like to continue after this conversation, we will go into more depth to establish an personalised plan in your first sessions. Depending on your hopes for therapy, we will work together to agree on which types of therapeutic approaches feel better for you. I draw on ideas and approaches from different therapies, using them together to help us form a deeper understanding about how you are feeling, learn different ways of coping, and process your experiences. Examples of evidence-based therapies I use include (but are not limited to) -

-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including third wave approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy)

- Narrative Therapy

- Trauma-Focused Therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Narrative Exposure Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Additionally to private therapy and supervision practice, I work part time in an NHS service for birthing people and families who have experienced loss and trauma in the perinatal period. This includes providing therapy for birth trauma, fear of childbirth (tokophobia), loss in pregnancy and neonatal loss. Other NHS services I have experience of working in include:

- Child and adolescent mental health teams, including specialist teams for supporting looked after children, unaccompanied asylum seeking young people, foster carers, schools, and social care teams. I have also worked in a team dedicated to supporting adolescent mental health.

- Specialist teams for adults with a learning disability, and other neurovdevelopmental difficulties including Autism and ADHD.

- A service for adults experiencing complex-post traumatic stress disorder, including displaced communities (people seeking asylum and those with refugee status).

-A women's health psychology service for people who have experienced difficulties including birth trauma, fertility struggles, and adjusting to diagnoses such as vaginismus and endometriosis.

If you would like to find out more about what I can offer you, either with therapy or clinical supervision, please get in touch for an initial consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
